45 Year old Dino Bove is facing his past and in so doing, has started his weight loss journey at last.
For years, he has been a food addict and overeater, as he attempted to stuff his past down, and then the overeating and food addiction became a habit.
Dr. David Sarwer is a psychologist who specializes in weight loss and weight management. He confirms for us that there is a link between obesity and abuse. In Dino’s case, it was sexual abuse at the age of nine. However, it’s not limited to just sexual abuse, he says, but also physical and emotional abuse as well as neglect, as well.
At Get Thin for Good, we know that even feeling rejected by a parent, or parental divorce, or even peer mockery can result in an unhealthy relationship to food. If you find yourself in a situation where you have battled for years to lose weight, like Dino, you may need to face your past and consider doing a program like the Get Thin for Good online weight loss program – a food addicts recovery program which takes you through the steps to lose weight permanently, making your weight loss journey just a little easier.
